About the Department :
At Musale multispeciality Hospital we provide an advanced 12 bedded Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of high standards which is the largest nicu setup in the city chandrapur . NICU is located on the 1st floor just adjacent to the paediatric opdcabin which allows immediate transfer of pre-term/sick babies.
Our well designed NICU is equipped with all the modern equipments such as ventilators, incubators, cardioscope monitors, CPAP machine, phototherapy machines to meet the needs of the tiniest and the sickest newborn.
All problems which a sick newborn may face such as extreme prematurity, very low birth weight (weight < 1kg), respiratory and cardiac problems, congenital anomalies, surgical emergencies have been faced and successfully treated at the NICU.
The nicu ward has the capability of transporting the sick babies by means of a transport incubator. There is a 24 hours nicu Service to transport such babies from place of delivery to our NICU.
The term “neonates” applies to all infants during the first 28 days of life. Neonatal Intensive care unit is designed for premature or sick infants requiring cardio-respiratory monitoring and care such as oxygen by hood or ventilators, IV drugs through infusion pumps, or any form of surgery.

Special Programme for the Neonate :
At Musale Hospital, we have started the H.O.P.E. clinic (High Risk OPD on Pediatric Evaluation). H.O.P.E – EIP (Early Intervention Programme) services cater to neonates in NICU who are preterm, low birth weight, or having any neurologically significant antenatal or postnatal events and other such associated red flags. Our insurance  programme , such as Jyotiba phule jeevandayi arogya yojna ,we admit the patients who are below poverty line having yellow or orange ration card . In this programme,  extreme prematurity, very low birth weight (weight < 1kg), respiratory and cardiac problems, congenital anomalies, surgical emergencies are treated free of cost . We also cover the many patients who are under the private health insurance services .

H.O.P.E. evaluations thus begin from the NICU level and are continued to 1, 3, 6, 9, 12 months of age
